The Referend Bier Blendery was founded in 2015, opened in late 2016, and specializes in exclusively spontaneous fermentation. We are seeking a Part-Time Cellarperson to assist primarily toward serving the public on open tasting days, and secondarily in the barrel cellar with production and packaging.
-Pouring lively and still cask conditioned beer, draught beer, and bottles
-Cask management (cellarmanship in the British sense)
-Learning our brewing/fermenting processes and offerings
-Accurately communicating the finer points of The Referend and spontaneously fermented beer to the drinking public
-Providing exceptional customer service
-Processing cash and card payments
-Assisting in the barrel cellar with barrel transfers, fruit processing, and packaging.
All Applicants must:
-Have relevant or well-justified tangential work experience
-Have a good working knowledge of the boundaries of their knowledge and an accompanying desire to expand those boundaries
-Be able to manipulate 100lb casks and lift 50lbs
Preferred Applicants will:
-Be TIPS certified or comparable
-Have a familiarity with wild beers and understanding of fermentation dynamics
-Have bar, brewery or winery experience
